Named after the Roman god of wine, Bacchus is grown all across the UK. Our cooler climate gives us higher acidity, powerful flavour and character from the grape which has a Sauvignon Blanc style.

Experience the unique taste of Giffords Hall Bacchus 2023, made with grapes from our 30-year-old vines. Our grapes are carefully hand-picked and fermented at 16 degrees in stainless steel tanks, ensuring the preservation of the wine's fresh and crisp acidity.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Bacchus white wine’s crisp, aromatic profile makes it a versatile wine for a variety of food pairings. Here are some great options:

  • Seafood
    - Grilled prawns, oysters, or light fish dishes like sole or cod. The freshness of Bacchus complements the delicate flavours of seafood.
  • Salads
    - Light, fresh salads with goat cheese, mixed greens, or citrus fruits. The wine’s acidity balances the flavours and enhances the freshness.
  • Cheese
    - Soft cheeses like goat cheese, brie, or feta. Bacchus' floral and herbal notes pair wonderfully with creamy, tangy cheeses.
  • Vegetarian Dishes
    - Asparagus, roasted vegetables, or vegetable risotto. The herbal and citrus notes in Bacchus enhance the flavours of these dishes.
  • Spicy Dishes
    - Thai or Indian cuisine, especially dishes with fresh herbs or citrus. The crispness of Bacchus helps cut through spice and brings out the subtle flavours.
  • Pasta
    - Pasta with a light lemon or herb sauce, or pasta with seafood or pesto. Bacchus works well with the fresh, herbal notes in these dishes.
