Awarded a Gold Medal at the IEWA 2025, our Bacchus 2024 is a fabulous example of what England’s signature white grape can achieve in the right hands — and the right climate.

Crafted from 30-year-old vines grown on our Suffolk estate, this wine captures the essence of English summer. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented at a cool 16°C in stainless steel, preserving the wine’s zesty acidity and vivid aromatics.

Expect bright layers of elderflower, lime, and green apple, with a refreshing, dry finish. Reminiscent of Sauvignon Blanc in style, but unmistakably English in character.

TASTING NOTES

  • Appearance:

Pale straw or light lemon colour with a slight greenish tint, indicating freshness.

  • Aroma (Nose):

this Bacchus is praised for its vivid aromatics and elegant complexity. The nose is “absolutely spectacular” — bursting with vibrant green notes and beautifully balanced acidity that carries through to a long, harmonious finish.

  • Palate (Taste):

Fresh, clean, and precisely defined fruit leads the way, with flavours of lime, green apple, and elderflower shining through. The palate is beautifully balanced — crisp and refreshing, yet with just the right amount of roundness to add texture and depth. There’s a clear expression of Bacchus’s varietal character, delivering vibrant intensity without losing finesse.

  • Body:

Elegant and balanced, the body enhances the wine’s freshness without overpowering its subtle complexity.

FOOD PAIRINGS

Bacchus white wine’s crisp, aromatic profile makes it a versatile wine for a variety of food pairings. Here are some great options:

    - Grilled prawns, oysters, or light fish dishes like sole or cod. The freshness of Bacchus complements the delicate flavours of seafood.

  • Salads

  • Poultry and white meats.
    - lemon and thyme roast chicken. Chicken or turkey caesar salad. Herb crusted pork loin.

  • Vegetarian Dishes
